Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas is opening its first East Coast theater early next year.

The movie theater and restaurant franchise will open a location in Winchester, Va., a town about 75 miles from Washington D.C.
The 10-screen location will be owned and operated by Alamo’s newest franchisee, NL Entertainment LLC.

“Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is a unique movie theater experience,” says Lisa Limoges, a partner in NL Entertainment. “We give a whole new meaning to the term ‘dinner and a movie’ by combining both experiences under one roof.”

Eventually, NL Entertainment hopes to open 10 locations in the state of Virginia.

Nationally, Alamo plans to have 30 locations open by the end of 2010. The company is targeting Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Arizona for growth.
