Domino’s Pizza, a USA based pizza restaurant and takeaway chain, has celebrated the 25th anniversary of the opening of its first international outlet. The first international Domino’s Pizza location was launched in Winnipeg, Canada in 1983 as a franchise. A few months later the first Domino’s Pizza outside North America was opened in Springwood, Queensland, Australia.
Since then the company has built up, mostly through franchising, an international presence of over 8,600 outlets in operation in more than 55 countries.
David A. Brandon, Domino’s Chairman and CEO, said: “Pizza has proven to be a truly universal food – it’s popular everywhere. The growth we’ve been able to attain is thanks to the incredible collection of franchisees who have joined us in the past 25 years to bring Domino’s Pizza to millions of customers worldwide.
