Cici’s Pizza Goes After Slice Of Upstate Market

Albany Times Union:

Cici’s Pizza, a buffet-style restaurant chain in the South and Midwest, is eyeing upstate New York for expansion.

The company, based near Dallas, has inked five franchise deals in the Syracuse area, with expectations for more in the suburbs of Rochester and Buffalo soon, said Jim Sheahan, Cici’s vice president for franchising.

Cici’s (pronounced “See-Sees”) has some 600 restaurants in 29 states, but none in New York. The closest locations now are in Pennsylvania.

The buffets feature many types of pizza, pasta, salad and dessert with an all-you-can-eat fixed price of about $5 or less per meal. The company also has smaller to-go restaurants with no seating.
