MarketWatch:

The 2008 Denny’s Franchisee Association (DFA) convention was the largest in association history, hosting more than 1,000 attendees in Las Vegas on Nov. 2-5.

DFA Board Chair W. Craig Barber said, “This is the only gathering for the entire Denny’s Brand and we believe it’s absolutely vital to bring together as many franchise operators, suppliers and corporate representatives as possible. Our franchise owners and operators are motivated and unified in our commitment to increase sales in a challenging economy. Our convention theme was ‘WINNING TOGETHER,’ and we recognize it will take all of us, along with competent and collaborative corporate leadership, to succeed.”

Guest speakers included Steve Farber, president of Extreme Leadership, Dennis Deaton, founder of Quma Learning Systems, and Margaret Morford, president of The HR Edge.

Along with a trade show, workshops, receptions and general sessions, the DFA convention included announcement of the top franchise operators for the Brand, including Robert Gaglardi of DenCan Restaurants, Inc. and Hossain Mohebbi of S&H Restaurant Co., Inc., representing operators with greater or fewer than 10 restaurants, respectively.
