Franchisors Booking Up For Sydney Expo

Franchising:

Franchising looks set to benefit from a straightened economic environment if interest in the upcoming Franchising & Business Opportunities Expos in 2009 is any indication. Half of the floor space at the Sydney Expo has already been sold, despite the event being still four months away.

Jon Perry, exhibition director for the Franchising & Business Opportunities Expos, run by Diversified Exhibitions, said “Bad news for the economy can often mean good news for franchisors. With the ongoing threat of job cuts and stock price plunges, more people are deciding that the best way to control their own destiny is through franchises and small-business ownership.

“A franchise, with its proven systems and support, offers a safer and potentially high return alternative. We experienced a wave of enthusiasm from visitors at this year’s Melbourne Expo following the economic downturn and there is a real buzz surrounding the 2009 events.”
