Dunkin’ Donuts‘ long-discussed expansion in central Ohio is expected to get under way in earnest with the opening of eight stores in central Ohio in 2009.

One of the most visible, at Broad and High streets, should open at the end of January, said Kristin Stratton, director of marketing for Columbus-based franchisee USA Restaurant Developers. Construction has taken longer than expected, so the opening was delayed, she said.

The Downtown shop will be the second of 60 that Dunkin’ Donuts hopes to open in central Ohio in the next seven years (Dispatch, Sept. 2).

USA Restaurant Developers expects to open half of that total. The first opened in November on Rt. 23 north of Worthington.
