When the new 1,870 square foot Canton Maid-Rite opens in February, the high expectations, hopes, and dreams of its owners – the Staley family – will have come to fruition.
The family – father Lyle, mom Susan, and daughters Jamie and Malissa – are putting some of the final touches on what has been an exciting and monumental project for the family.
The newly-constructed building is located at 169 S. Fifth Avenue in Canton and will offer a 50’s-style decor with some local sports memorabilia as a part of the atmosphere.
A mural on one wall will depict the original Maid-Rite which operated in Muscatine, Iowa.
“We have all worked so hard and are now looking forward to the opening. Everyone we hear from is excited, which makes us get more excited,” says Jamie.
“We hope to live up to everyone’s expectations and do a good job and do everything right,” she explains.
Floors, ceilings, painting, wallpaper, lighting, and seating are just some of the work which will be complete this week.
Counters were installed on Monday. The point of sale equipment and related electronics should be installed within the next two weeks. Kitchen equipment will most likely be the last thing to be installed because it will limit working space. Read on.
