The German chain of self-service bakeries, Back-Factory, is looking to push forward its expansion plans this year by growing its number of franchisees. The company has announced that it succeeded in increasing its revenue in 2008 by around eleven percent. According to the information provided, Back-Factory is intending to open up at least 100 new outlets over the medium term. Furthermore, it is planning to expand abroad into neighbouring European countries such as Austria and the Netherlands by concluding master franchise agreements.

Back-Factory, a subsidiary of Harry-Brot, currently has 71 franchise outlets as well as 39 company-run branches in Germany. According to the company, priority is given to customer satisfaction as well as providing top quality products. 22 of the 50+ Back-Factory products have been awarded accreditation by the German Agricultural Association, the DLG. The Back-Factory shops have more than 800 full and part-time employees.
