Conservative Cafe To Grow Liberally

Gary Post Tribune:

Crown Point’s Conservative Cafe is getting ready to go national.

Cafe co-owner Bill McCall told the Post-Tribune on Monday the year-old coffee shop, which has garnered national attention with its clever political trappings, is about a month away from finalizing the legal framework to begin building a nationwide chain of franchise locations and likely two months away from starting work on the first of the new restaurants.

McCall and co-owner David Beckham are looking for investors and an executive experienced in franchises to help them make the expansion leap.

In a franchise system, independent investors pay a company for the rights to use the company’s name and business model.

McCall said there are three new sites being considered in Northwest Indiana, including a second location in Crown Point, one in Dyer and one in Valparaiso.

Those three would likely be the first franchises to open, McCall said, as the expansion efforts will start small and stay close to home. Read more.
