Panera Franchisee Closing Crosswoods Café

Bizjournals.com:

Panera Bread Co.’s local franchisee will close its bakery-café north of Worthington on Thursday.

Columbus-based Breads of the World LLC said Wednesday the shop at 130 Hutchinson Avenue in the Crosswoods retail center will vacate the space Thursday in order to abide by its lease. The store has been in business for 10 years.

“Panera Bread has been part of the Central Ohio community for more than eleven years,” Breads President Jeff Rains said in a statement. “We had to make a business decision about closing this café, but we plan to continue serving our customers in the Crosswoods area at our Polaris Towne Center, Lewis Center and Clintonville” locations.

The company said employees at the Crosswoods café will be offered jobs at one of the 19 other Panera locations in Central Ohio. Details weren’t immediately available on how many workers are employed at that location.
