Five Guys Opens In Marlborough

MetroWest Daily News:

What you see on the sign outside is what you get in the restaurant inside. Five Guys Burger & Fries serves burgers and fries.

The menu doesn’t bother with many other items. What it does it does so well that the business has expanded into a chain with more than 400 franchises in 25 states.

The latest eatery opened Thursday in Marlborough with the franchise owned by Massachusetts Burger Enterprises LLC. This Franklin-based company makes its entrepreneurial debut with Five Guys. It intends to open 20 of the restaurants in the state’s Middlesex and Hampshire counties in the next six to eight years.

This company happens to be owned by six guys – Marc Magerman of Franklin, Peter Weber, a Framingham North High School grad who now lives in Waterford, Va., Peter Biro of Wellesley, Bill Ranney of Potomac, Md., and silent partners, Tom Donnelly and Chris Feeley, both of Franklin. Their business backgrounds include private equity investment, marketing, consulting and finance.
