Panera Bread Co. is opening its second Memphis-area location Tuesday in East Memphis’ Laurelwood Shopping Center.
The St. Louis-based fast casual restaurant chain will hold a grand opening at 9 a.m. at 4530 Poplar, Suite 101.
Delta Dough Inc., the local franchisee, opened its first Memphis-area Panera Bread location in the Trinity Commons Shopping Center in December.
Panera Bread Co. plans to open 10 more local cafes during the next five years. All locations employ about 90 individuals, including part-time workers and a team of bakers working through the night. The locations also feature community rooms and free Wi-Fi for customers.
