Premiere Van Lines Inc. head office in Mississauga parted company with its former Manitoba franchisor, James Kenneth Trann, at the end of February.

The firm was placed into receivership earlier this month owing about $900,000 to the Business Development Bank of Canada and the HSBS, as well as about $600,000 to unsecured creditors.

Jeff Wharton, longtime owner of Globe Moving and Storage and an Atlas Van Lines agent, has since acquired the Manitoba franchise for Premiere Van Lines and it is operating normally as part of the national organization.

Premiere Van Lines has franchises across the country owned by independent trucking firms.

The Premiere Van Lines franchisees are also agents for Atlas Van Lines.
