English Tutoring Franchisees Cry Foul

เดอะ เนชั่น:

Eight franchisees who operated a number of English language tutorial schools yesterday filed a complaint with police, accusing the franchiser of fraud, for failing to provide qualified foreign teachers as required under the franchise conditions.

Worraphong Intharakamthornchai, representing himself and the seven other franchisees, accused the franchiser of the English Plus or E+ school of lying to them and all students that it held a licence from the Education Ministry to ensure academic excellence.

After a brief period of operation, for which he paid Bt300,000 for the franchise and invested another Bt600,000 for teaching facilities, Worraphong said the teachers were often absent from classes and their replacements often lacked basic qualifications as English teachers.
