Florida is one of the final states where Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. is converting company-operated stores to franchises.

7-Eleven began franchising its stores in late 2007 in the Miami area, and moved to other regions in Florida the following May.

New owners have moved to the state to take advantage of the opportunities, and local residents also have become new franchisees, according to the report.

7-Eleven converts about eight to 10 company-operated stores to franchises each month in Florida, and the convenience chain recently celebrated its 100th franchise conversion store in the state.
