Coimbatore-based retailer Indsys Infotech has charted an aggressive expansion plan that includes opening eight franchisee outlets across Tamil Nadu and the launch of an exclusive Apple outlet in the city.
The franchisee chain will consist of multi-brand stores approximately 400 sq ft in size and will be opened in tier-2 cities of the Tamil Nadu like Salem and Madurai. Indsys presently has two stores in Coimbatore, of which one is a 400 sq ft exclusive Toshiba store and the other, a 600 sq ft multi-brand outlet.
“Although the consumer buying sentiments were quite low due to the slowdown, we expect it to improve and retail to grow in the coming months. It is for this reason that we have charted an aggressive expansion plan where we intend to have at least one store in each of the major cities of the state by the end of the current fiscal. In order to meet this target, we plan to tie up with local partners to open franchisee stores in these cities,†said Prabhu Mahalingam, Director, Indsys Infotech.
