The local franchisee for Checkers Drive-in Restaurants Inc. is building the company’s newest Tallahassee location at Lake Bradford Road and West Gaines Street.
A corner location once home to a BP service station, the site is now owned by franchisee Monroe Properties of Tallahassee. When it opens in early September, the restaurant will be the company’s fifth in this market, said Andrew Gutierrez, principal in the firm.
“We are really hoping that is going to be a home run for us,” Gutierrez said of the site across from FSU’s Doak Campbell Stadium. It will have five managers and a staff of 45 when it opens. More.
