Smiggle Takes Off At Airports: Stationary

The Australian:

JUST Group‘s colourful stationery subsidiary Smiggle will soon appear at airports across Australia and New Zealand under a franchising deal with travel retail specialist LagardereServices Asia-Pacific.

Just Group managing director Jason Murray said the first airport store was expected to open by the end of the calendar year in either Sydney or Melbourne, with other state capitals to follow.

“We’d like to be in all the majors,” he said.

LSAP, the Asia-Pacific arm of French media group Lagardere, operates stores in Australian airport terminals under various banners, including Australian Gourmet Traveller, Billabong, Lonely Planet, NewsLink and Virgin Entertainment.

However, Mr Murray said he wanted to see how the business performed in Australian airports before expanding into Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong and China, where LSAP also operates airport retail outlets.
