Geneva Sun:

Denise Knickrehm ran Back in Bloom in Bartlett for 10 years. At the end of September, Knickrehm opened Denise’s Home Adornments and Vintage Finds at 221 S. Third St. in Geneva. She’s pretty thrilled that people won’t confuse her one-of-a-kind home goods store with a flower shop anymore.

Denise’s is a mix of the old and the new. Knickrehm updates vintage bottles, keys, jewelry and more. “I don’t want to be called a resale shop,” she said. “We have stuff that is unique.”

Her Web site,, provides a sneak peek at some of the charming pieces of décor that she appetizingly has on display. “We have a wonderful blend of vintage and new items that refresh your shopping experience every time you walk in the door,” she writes on the site. “Your mind will wander in ways that it hasn’t for a long time when you visit us.”
