Johnny Rockets, a US franchise originating from California, has opened up its first location in Germany at the Ramstein US Air Force base. According to information provided by the company, the US “Army and Air Force Exchange Service” were in favour of a Johnny Rockets restaurant opening up on the site because of its typical American food and the American style of the furnishings.
Johnny Rockets was founded in 1986. The network currently has around 280 company-owned restaurants as well as locations run by franchisees in 29 US states and eleven other countries. In 2008, the chain opened up over forty new restaurants and it is aiming to set up around fifty new locations this year.
