Philly Dawgz, which serves up a mix of Chicago-style, Latino and BBQ dishes, is opening in the D.C. area.
Montgomery County is about to get two stores at 12211 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton and 10141 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring.
“We are hoping to have Wheaton open by the holidays and Silver Spring open probably six months after that,†said Bill Ilc, director of operations at the Philly Dawgz Franchise Systems Inc.’s headquarters in Little Canada, Minn.
The eateries tout a fun and vibrant atmosphere, with ketchup and mustard colors and record sleeves hanging on the walls.
Its signature item is a Chicago-style dog — an all-beef hot dog on a poppy seed bun that is doused with mustard, onion, relish, pickles and celery salt.
