The Rs 700-crore shampoos-to-snacks FMCG major is planning a Rs 300-crore restaurant chain in the next three years.
The company entered the restaurant business in July with its fast food offering CK’s Foodstraunt in Pondicherry. On Friday, it launched its second restaurant Vegnation in Chennai that dishes out vegetarian north and south Indian fare.
“We will try three more restaurant formats, all of which should be in place by June 2010. We will grow the business in the models that prove successful and start franchising them in the next six to twelve months,” CavinKare chairman & MD CK Ranganathan said. More.
