Enterprise Ireland Is Open For Biz With Franchising Companies

The Irish Republic’s government agency Enterprise Ireland has in its current strategy, Transforming Irish Industry 2008-2010, a new focus on the services sector. Enterprise Ireland was formed in 1998 and has 32 offices nationwide. As a government agency Enterprise Ireland is funded by the tax payers and its own investments, with the key aim of helping Irish businesses expand internationally driving money back into the economy.

As part of its new services strategy, Enterprise Ireland is keen to explore franchising as a means for international expansion. Des Doyle from Enterprise Ireland explains: ‘Enterprise Ireland is looking for Ireland-based businesses determined to expand overseas but for whatever reason are unable to – whether that is due to financial constraints or they lack the ability to adapt their business or the product to a new market.’
