Obama’s Fave Burger Chain To Invade California, OC

Five Guys Burgers & Fries is accelerating its California expansion with plans to open 300 units in the state, including several in Orange County.

The chain is often dubbed the In-N-Out of the East Coast because its loyal fans, which include the First Family, rave about its hand-pressed beef patties and fresh-cut fries. So far, two Five Guys have opened in the Los Angeles area.

This week, a local franchisee confirmed plans to open Orange County’s first Five Guys in Orange at the Tuskatella shopping center.

“The deal isn’t done, but it is almost done,” said franchisee Phil Ratner, who operates the Five Guys in Carson and Cerritos.
Ratner confirmed that a “letter of intent” has been signed to open a Five Guys at the corner of Katella Avenue and Tustin Street.
