Cobs Bread is looking to expand its string of franchises by 150 in the new year, 50 of which will be in Canada alone.
“Owning your own business is the new dream for a large number of Canadians who want to take control of their own destiny and pursue self employment,” said Roger Gillespie, co-founder and CEO of the bakery franchise.
“The opportunity is targeted at all Canadians and includes those who may lack the start-up capital. These recruits are trained as part of our Manage to Own program to then take on their own bakery within six to 12 months as a franchisee.”
In spite of the economic hard times, Cobs remained strong throughout the year, opening its 62nd bakery in 2009.
