Franchisees of a Michigan-based cellular phone store allege that deceptive business practices have cost them thousands of dollars.
WDIV and Crain’s Detroit Business report that the owner of Wireless Toyz, based in Farmington Hills, is being sued for fraud. Hearings began Friday in Oakland County Circuit Court
Joe Barbat is accused of violating Michigan franchise laws and falsifying information about profitability to franchisees. One franchisee, Raad Kello of Chicago, is said to be seeking millions of dollars.
