Ian’s Pretty Chipper

Mirror.co.uk:

Since Ian Whitlock became a ChipsAway franchisee last September, he hasn’t had a moment to look back.

In his very first week trading, 52-year-old Ian got his motor repair business listed on the internal intranet site of his local borough council with a personal recommendation from the deputy mayor, whose car he had repaired.

“I polished out some paintwork scratches for her and she was so delighted with the job she made sure I was listed as one of the ethical, honourable and reliable local tradespeople.

“It’s about spotting opportunities to get your name across to as many people as possible!” says Ian.

He got around £10,000 of bookings in the first two weeks and says there’s been little let-up since. “My biggest problem is simply keeping up with the demand for the services,” he says.

ChipsAway offers automotive paintwork repairs, and has around 350 franchisees around the UK as well as a network of Master Franchisors worldwide.
