3 Local Dunkin’ Donuts Stores Won’t Open

The State:

Three Dunkin’ Donuts stores being built in the Midlands – including one on Main Street – will not open, a corporate spokesman said Thursday.

The three stores, which also include locations in Red Bank and Northeast Richland, were being built by franchisee Kainos Partners of Greer.

Despite filing for bankruptcy protection last July, Kainos still planned to open the three Midlands stores. The Red Bank store appeared close to completion.

In a bankruptcy court filing last month, the three Columbia stores were not among the locations Kainos said it wanted to keep. However, the firm petitioned to keep 16 Upstate stores.
