Maltese Businesses Urged To Follow Example Of Café Jubilee And Franchise Abroad

With local brand Café Jubilee opening its first franchise abroad, in Budapest, on Saturday, Maltese businesses were yesterday urged to imitate the local brand first by branding themselves and then by launching their franchise abroad.

In a bid to step up the government’s efforts to incentivise and support businesses in looking beyond local shores and explore the opportunities offered by the worldwide market, the Minister of Finance, the Economy and Investment, Tonio Fenech yesterday launched a new initiative intended to introduce and guide businesses in the concept of franchising. This will be managed by Malta Enterprise in partnership with the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.

The Commonwealth Secretariat, through its Special Advisory Services Division, will be supporting this project on internal capacity building and through the development of a franchise support programme for Malta. Read more.
