I always ask newcomers to this city why they chose to come to Calgary and many cite the positive business attitude, friendliness and entrepreneurial spirit. And I tell them that I believe they become those very reasons and help us to attract more good people.
Earlier this week, I sat down at Waves Coffee House with a good example: Abrahim Husin.
As a biomedical engineering student at a college in Chicago, he, along with a friend, would visit a small coffee shop on Michigan Avenue. They offered to buy it from the elderly owner who had no energy and no smile left, Husin says.
