Fast Food Franchisee Hits Back At Residents

Residents have lodged more than 30 objections to a planned Noosa Junction Hungry Jacks restaurant.

They claim the 24-hour outlet will entice drunks and hoons to the area at night and lower neighbouring property prices.

The local business man behind the planned 24-hour restaurant this week defended the application, with support from the local business association.

Critics claim the proposed restaurant to sit above the existing 24-hour Mobil service station next door to entertainment venue The J will bring with it noise pollution and traffic congestion.

Franchisee Cobus Van Staden said this week the opening hours were negotiable, while he would look at hiring security guards to quell fears about trouble at night.
