Awful Turn For Stella Huang’s Chocolate Business

MSN Singapore:

Singaporean singer-turned-businesswoman Stella Huang has been ordered to pay NT$1.74 million (S$76,000) in damages to chocolate chain Awfully Chocolate.

A Taipei district court ruled that she had violated terms in her franchisee contract and flouted competition laws.

Awfully Chocolate, founded in Singapore in 1998 and with stores also in Taiwan and Indonesia, agreed to provide ingredients and training to Stella’s Taiwan license in 2006. In return, she had to submit 15 per cent of her shop’s revenue.
