Franchisee Will Await Better Location, Timing For Next Kentucky Fried Chicken In Champaign

Champaign/Urbana News-Gazette:

The Kentucky Fried Chicken on North Prospect Avenue closed recently because the franchisee wants to find a better location north of Interstate 74.

The restaurant at 1308 N. Prospect Ave., C, ceased operations at the beginning of June, said Joseph Adams, director of human resources for the franchisee, Clinton-based Bartlett Management Service.

The franchise for that location expired then, and Bartlett had to decide whether to build a new facility at that site, which was leased from a third party, Adams said.

Bartlett concluded that business and traffic had shifted to the north side of Interstate 74 and that its location south of the interstate was “a little out of the way,” Adams said.
