The Melting Pot Donates To YMCA

Woodlands Online:

The Melting Pot Restaurants recently celebrated National Cheese Fondue Day with “Cheese for Charity”. The local restaurant located in Shenandoah, chose the South Montgomery County YMCA as their charity of choice. For every cheese fondue purchased, $10 was donated to the YMCA. During the 8 hour period, more than $550 was raised for the local YMCA Partners Program.

Funds donated to the Partners Program enables the YMCA to provide its programs and services to families with limited financial resources. The YMCA strives to turn no one away due to inability to pay. More than $500,000 in scholarships are awarded annually to local kids, teens and families so they too can participate in YMCA enriching programs and reach their fullest potential.

“This is an opportunity for our restaurants to give back, raise awareness for these causes and create long-lasting partnerships with over 100 charitable organization that need help”, said Rod James, national director of branding for The Melting Pot Restaurants. “By celebrating National Cheese Fondue Day in this way, our guests will be able to feel like an integral part in making a difference for our communities during a time when charities have been hit hard due to economic downturn.”
