Tossed Franchisee Looking To Open A New Salad Shop In Boston Area

Wicked Local:

Lou Palermo has only owned the Tossed franchise in Boston for a year, and he’s already cooking up plans for an expansion. Palermo says he would like to open the state’s second Tossed store someplace in or near downtown Boston, possibly in the financial district or in Cambridge, within the next year. He’s considering a possible kiosk, something that’s smaller than his 2,500-square-foot shop in the Prudential Center. It’s got to be in a dense, urban area where plenty of people work because his current store’s primary customer base is a lunchtime crowd.

The Florida resident’s shop is located in a side hallway in the Pru complex, so he decided to aggressively market the place after buying the business in May 2009 (the store originally opened in 2007). His team brought samples to many of the nearby businesses and apartments to spread the word about the store, which was probably unfamiliar to most people working in Boston.
