Bruegger’s Inks New Development Agreement For Kentucky

RestaurantNews.com:

Bruegger’s Enterprises, Inc. announced a new franchisee group to its family of nearly 300 bakeries in 26 states and Canada. Scott and Kim Berger signed a development agreement last week in the company’s Burlington offices. The husband and wife team plan to open three locations in the Louisville area, the first scheduled for late 2010. The bakeries will be the first in the Kentucky market outside of the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Airport.

Both born and raised in Kentucky, Scott and Kim Berger are longtime business owners in Louisville. Together, they own and run a local company, Laser Design & Engraving, which is an active sponsor of the community. A proud alum and ex football player of Hanover College in Indiana, Scott also coaches the 7th and 8th grade St. Aloysius Parish football team and volunteers for the school’s athletic department. Kim Berger, a graduate of the University of Louisville, has previous experience in finance and currently serves as the Treasurer of the PTA at St. Aloysius Parish. They reside in Louisville and have two teenage boys, ages 13 and 15.

“Kim and I were attracted to Bruegger’s because of its commitment and involvement in local communities and its healthy breakfast and lunch options,” said Scott Berger. “We know Bruegger’s high quality, original menu items and warm, friendly environment will be embraced by the residents of Louisville.”
