When the MarLu Investment Group of Sacramento recently acquired 21 Jack in the Box restaurants in Modesto, Los Banos and Sacramento, it was a major step in becoming one of the largest domestic operators of franchise restaurants.
But there was also a personal connection for MarLu Chief Executive and Stockton resident Anton “Tony” Lutfi.
He and his wife, Anna Lutfi, who recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary, met while both worked at a Jack in the Box restaurant on Harding Way in Stockton, he as a shift manager.“For us, it’s been a full cycle,” Lutfi, 50, said. “We started at Jack in the Box, and here we are again.”
