Rob Carpenter has had a successful Mr. Handyman franchise for seven years. When the chance came to add a Molly Maid franchise, it seemed like a great idea.
The new franchise shares the office at 12 Davis Ave., off East Patrick Street, with Mr. Handyman.
“Molly Maid offers residential cleaning. The franchise has been around more than 25 years,” Carpenter said. He and his wife, Missy, are part-owners of the franchise. Jim Weddle is operations manager.
“I’ve known Jim for 31 years,” Carpenter said. “He was my basketball coach at Linganore (High School). I played for him and later coached, too. We both help out coaching at (Gov. Thomas Johnson High School).”
Locally, two two-person cleaning crews have been set up, as well as two full-time office staff members, and the company is still hiring, Carpenter said.
