Flying J Stop Will Become Denny’s

Gary Post Tribune:

The Cookery Restaurant in the Flying J truck stop at Interstate 65 and Indiana 2 will be among the first of 140 of the restaurants to convert to a Denny’s.

The move comes in the wake of a consolidation between Flying J and Pilot. Following the merger, the company entered into a partnership with Denny’s to take over the truck stops’ restaurants.

A spokesperson for Flying J could not be reached. The plan will be implemented over the next two years, according to published reports.

The Lowell Denny’s will be the 21st Indiana location for franchisee PFC Classic Dining of Crystal Lake, Ill., according to Amy Horton, marketing coordinator for PFC.

The franchisee operates 28 restaurants in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin and plans to open an additional five locations this year, four in Indiana.
