Woody’s Closes Sebring Restaurant

Tbo.com:

Bill Caldwell described it as “one of the saddest things I’ve ever had to do.”

Caldwell, the Woody’s BBQ franchisee, was talking about the decision he made to close the Sebring store on U.S. 27. The restaurant had been in business for 15 years.

“It was an awful decision to have to make,” Caldwell said Thursday. “It was a very difficult decision.”

Woody’s was hurt by a combination of factors that included the current economic situation, fewer people are eating out and the increase in competition for the dining dollar, Caldwell said.

In terms of competition, Caldwell said it has changed since Woody’s opened. He noted that the restaurant business is “considerably more competitive” in Sebring now.
