Tom Thayer jumped into the construction industry right out of high school.
It was a summer job and he didn’t figure he’d be sticking around long. But that job ultimately led to a successful 25-year career in the industry.
Things changed in July 2009, however, when Thayer was laid off from his job as a technical service representative for a large roofing manufacturer.
