The Long Wait Is Over: Steak ‘N Shake Opens In Rome

Rome News Tribune:

Didn’t take long for Rome’s new Steak’n Shake to fill up after formal grand opening ceremonies Wednesday morning.

“Basically most of the people in Rome want to know why it took so long,” Mayor Wright Bagby said. “We’ve got a daytime population in Rome of almost 80,000 even though our population is only 36,000, so there are a lot of people who want to eat.”

With a swipe of his credit card, Sardar Biglari, CEO of Biglari Holdings, became the first paying customer at Rome’s new Steak ’n Shake, 838 Turner McCall Blvd.

Biglari Holdings owns the Steak ’n Shake and Western Sizzlin chains. He bought a milk shake for Rome store partner Wayne Robinson and the two toasted the success of Rome’s newest restaurant.
