Founder Of FIGO To Franchise New Pasta Concept

Atlanta Business Chronicle:

A founder of FIGO Pasta plans to bring his own brand of fast-casual Italian restaurants to metro Atlanta.

Mirko Di Giacomantonio, owner and chef of Mirko Pasta, believes he and business partner Archie Crenshaw will open 100 restaurants over the next seven years in the Southeast as they begin franchising a choose-your-own pasta and sauce concept.

Di Giacomantonio, who uses family and classic Italian recipes, opened his first Mirko Pasta about three years ago in Watkinsville, just south of Athens, and now has seven restaurants, including ones in Peachtree City and Buford.

Di Giacomantonio and Crenshaw, who once owned franchised Burger King restaurants in Tennessee, as well as Captain D’s in Indiana and Zaxby’s in Raleigh, N.C., are currently negotiating for corporate stores in Cobb County and another off Roswell Road in the city of Atlanta.
