Academy Pupils Get A Pizza The Action

Sixth form pupils of Thomas Deacon Academy had a flavour of franchising as an alternative to running a standalone business at a franchise lecture given by local entrepreneur Stef Malajny, owner of the Papa Luigi franchise chain (the franchisor) assisted by the owner of the Lincoln Road business, Abby Bahnam (the franchisee).

“The youngsters appreciated that they were learning about business in a real world situation, and the bonus of a free Papa Luigi pizza seemed to keep the attendances to a high level,” said Stef.

After a guided tour of the kitchens, the pupils were shown how the traditional quality of making a pizza is enhanced by modern day technology, as well as the use of the computerized order taking system which also holds considerable information that can be used in sending out special promotions. Some of the more adventurous pupils even tried their hand at spinning the dough and making pizzas. Read full article.
