Baskin-Robbins Offers Help To Franchisees

Gold Coast Bulletin News:

BASKIN-Robbins International is recruiting a management team to oversee and support the brand’s Australian franchisees following the split with stricken Gold Coast retail group Allied Brands.

Speaking from the US yesterday, BRI president Srinivas Kumar said parent company Dunkin’ Brands terminated Allied’s franchise agreement last month because it was unhappy with the way the ice cream brand was being managed Down Under.

Mr Kumar said franchisees had previously experienced dwindling supplies of ice cream flavours and received little marketing or innovation support. But since taking back the franchise contract, flavours have returned to stores and work has begun on expanding.

Mr Kumar said Dunkin’s concerns included the lack of support for the 89 Australian franchisees and the under-penetration of the brand in the market.
