Gainesville dessert businesses are on the move with Red Mango
taking over the two Yogaberry locations, and Yum Cupcakery moving downtown and changing its name to Sarkara Sweets.
Red Mango co-owner Terri Keogh said the local Yogaberry franchisee walked into their 34th Street location to see if they would take over his leases.
“We did have plans for two additional stores in Gainesville. We never thought it would be this quick,” she said.
The stores are in the food court of The Oaks Mall and inside Target Copy on West University Avenue across from the University of Florida library. Keogh said they started construction in the mall last week in hopes of opening by Friday and will start soon to build a “mini-store within a store” at Target Copy to open by Jan. 3 in time for the new semester at UF.
