Burger King Franchisee Suit Dismissed

Bizjournals.com:

A Miami federal judge has dismissed a case filed against Burger King Corp. by the National Franchisee Association.

The dispute centered on the fast-food restaurant operator’s decision to require its franchisees to sell some of the menu items for no more than $1.

They argued that Burger King did not have the right under its franchise agreements to unilaterally impose maximum prices for products and that, even if the company did have the right, it was acting in bad faith.
The franchisees argued that requiring them to sell a double cheeseburger for $1 was costing them money.
