Kim Nguyen knew she wanted to start a frozen yogurt business last year, but none of the big names appealed to her.

Instead, the co-owner of Longwood-based design/build firm MT Design Inc. decided to start her own chain, and earlier this month, an Orlando-area franchisee of the concept signed leases for two Seminole County locations.
