Restaurant Chain With Roots Solidly In Tacoma Plans To Take Its Brand Of Pie To National Level

Of the 64,951 pizzerias where a hungry diner might buy a fresh pie or a slice in the United States, 10 were born behind a door located beside a used-record store on Jefferson Avenue in a lower downtown Tacoma neighborhood once heavy with empty brick factories, breweries and the scent of failed ambition.

Don Bellis and Jay Gigandet chose this location because, among other things, the rent was cheap.

In 1995 they had $100,000 and a vision concerning the possible benefits that could derive from the right combination of well-made pizza and vintage rock and roll.
