Battle Goes Into Cyberspace

The battle to pass two contentious pieces of legislation affecting one of Australia’s largest industries has gone online, as supporters race to beat upcoming deadlines.

Both WA and South Australia propose to introduce laws covering the $130 billion-a-year franchising industry, while an Opposition MP in Queensland has also indicated he will do so.

MPs in WA and South Australia introduced legislation to cover monetary penalties for those who breach the laws and a good faith provision, two matters that were not covered when the federal government made changes to the national franchising code of conduct. Carry on reading this post.
